SOS Quote:
"Hermann Gmeiner's SOS Children's Village concept is not just aiming at the children in an SOS Children's Village, we want every child in this world to have a mother and a family as well as brothers and sisters, a house and a community. We want as many children as possible - both inside and outside the SOS Children's Villages - to grow up under these conditions."
Helmut Kutin, President of SOS-Kinderdorf International

mum_and_child_photo_265Since 1991, SOS Children’s Villages Mauritius, has been on the forefront as an NGO to protect and fulfil the rights of our most disadvantaged children for a family and the love of a mother. It operates two SOS children’s villages, and the programme supports some 700 beneficiaries.

Besides residential care, its core activity, the organisation also provides outreach community-based services for the prevention of child abandonment.

SOS Children’s Villages Mauritius relies on the support of individuals, companies, government grants, foundations and other funding institutions to help children.

It is affiliated to SOS-Kinderdorf International, the umbrella organisation for all SOS children’s villages associations around the world, founded by Hermann Gmeiner.
